Dot IT Domains

Introduced in 1987, Italy’s dot IT country-specific extension is really popular both within the country and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for forming inventive and interesting domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to create an easy-to-remember domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to come back to your website or to share it with coworkers and pals. The domain name extension can also be used for a website, which is connected to the information sector given the fact that IT is an abbreviation, which is in use all over the globe.

Because .IT domains are not offered directly by IT-NIC, the Registry that manages this extension, such a domain can be ordered through a 3rd-party domain service provider, such as ours. We will handle the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry organization. You can order a .IT domain for no more than a year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our company and we will renew it the moment the transfer has been done. The only limitation is that the person registering such a domain needs to be situated in a member state of the EU.

Since there are existing 2nd-level Domains that include names of different areas and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that include geographical areas of any sort are not allowed on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not support such 3rd-level domains, though, considering that they can be registered only by locals.
